Barbara has lived in Santa Cruz County since 1979 and graduated from San Jose State University in 1987 with a Bachelor of Science in Occupational Therapy. Barbara spent the following 5 years working in all areas of occupational therapy including hospital settings, outpatient orthopedic clinics, home health, and industrial rehabilitation.
In 1992, Barbara began developing ergonomic training programs for local employers and performing ergonomic evaluations throughout the Bay Area. This led to Barbara’s specialization in hand therapy and in 1998 she became a Certified Hand Therapist. During the mid to late 1990’s, Barbara spent time in Mexico volunteering in hand therapy clinics and living with local families while attending Spanish language schools and traveling.
Barbara was co-owner of Redwood Therapy Solutions, a local occupational and physical therapy practice in Watsonville from 2000-2009. During that time she worked in several hand therapy clinics and at Watsonville Community hospital.
In June 2013, Barbara joined the staff at Precision Physical Therapy & Fitness as their hand therapist and she looks forward to growing the hand therapy portion of the practice. Barbara works closely with many hand surgeons in the Bay Area and continues her education and training with the American Society of Hand Therapy.
Barbara resides in Aptos with her husband and their two dogs. She enjoys traveling, running, yoga, hiking, gardening, and reading.
