Dr. Wilschinsky has been passionate about holistic health and the human body since a young age. She studied the sciences extensively in high school and balanced her curricular pursuits with a passion for dance. Dr. Wilschinsky graduated from UCSC in 1997 with a B.A. in Women’s Studies. During her undergraduate years, Dr. Wilschinsky discovered a love for Iyengar Yoga and also took advantage of the opportunity to study abroad in France. After graduation, Dr. Wilschinsky returned to France for two years where she taught English and studied yoga intensively. Returning to Santa Cruz in 2003, she continued her post-baccalaureate study of health sciences at Cabrillo College where she worked as a tutor and teaching assistant in chemistry and anatomy. She also began to explore the world of physical therapy and worked as a physical therapy aide.
Dr. Wilschinsky received her Doctorate of Physical Therapy in May 2011. Over the course of her graduate study, Dr. Wilschinsky completed three clinical rotations in outpatient orthopedics: at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Beverley Hills, Dominican Hospital Outpatient Rehabilitation, and Precision Physical Therapy & Fitness in Santa Cruz. During these clinical rotations, Dr. Wilschinsky had the opportunity to work with a variety of patients, spanning age, condition and cultural background. During her graduate studies, Dr. Wilschinsky began to study the Movement System Impairment Method by Shirley Sahrmann, PhD, as a patient and a practitioner. She has also had extensive study in the Dynamic Neuromuscular Stabilization approach through the Prague School of Rehabilitation since being introduced to it at Precision. Dr. Wilschinsky currently runs Precision’s women’s health program with specialty training in pelvic rehabilitation to treat a variety of issues associated with pelvic floor pain and/or dysfunction. She enjoys working with women during and after pregnancy and is also able treat pelvic floor pain, incontinence, prolapse and associated conditions.
